Placeholders reference

JomForm emails and notifications support dynamic placeholders. When an email is sent, each placeholder is replaced with the real value for that sale or submission. There are two kinds: {...} tokens used as recipients, and {{...}} tokens used inside the subject and body.

Recipient placeholders

Used in the Send to field of a notification rule. A recipient is either a literal email address, {admin_email}, or a submitted field value.

PlaceholderMeaning
{admin_email}The merchant's account email. Used as a notification recipient — the email is resolved at send time.
{field_id}The submitted value of a form field, used as a notification recipient (e.g. a buyer's email field). Replace field_id with the actual block id of the field.

Subject & body placeholders

Used in the subject and body of receipt emails and notification rules.

PlaceholderMeaning
{{ref_code}}The sale's reference code (e.g. the code shown to the buyer and used to look up the sale). Empty on a response form — a response has no sale.
{{amount}}The formatted sale amount (e.g. 123.45 in the workspace's currency). Empty on a response form.
{{items}}A summary of the purchased items (product names and quantities). Empty on a response form.
{{buyer_name}}The buyer's name as submitted on the form. On a response form this is the responder's name.
{{full_name}}The name of the person who submitted (the buyer, or the responder on a response form). Always defined — empty when the submission carried no name.
{{email}}The email of the person who submitted. Always defined — empty when the submission carried no email.
{{form_url}}The public URL of the form that was purchased.
{{date}}The date the email is sent.
{{table_number}}The table number a QR-ordering customer scanned (the ?table=N on the order form URL). Empty for a regular online order with no table.
{{field_id}}Any submitted form field value. Replace field_id with the actual block id of the field (e.g. {{email}} for a field whose id is email).

Example

Subject: Jualan baharu — {{ref_code}}
Body:
  Rujukan : {{ref_code}}
  Jumlah  : RM {{amount}}
  Item    : {{items}}
  Pembeli : {{buyer_name}}
  Borang  : {{form_url}}

A response form gets a different default notification, because a response has no sale: its rule fires on response.submitted and uses only placeholders that carry a value for a submission —{{full_name}}, {{email}}, {{form_url}} and {{date}}. A placeholder with no value is sent as an empty string, so check the reference above before using a sale placeholder in a notification that runs on a response form.
